ETL Programmer Analyst


Role Summary:

We are looking for an innovative and motivated individual to help us transform our ETL methodologies. We collect data from various media, including television, print and internet in a complex database environment. In our West Chester, PA office, data is fed from various collection systems into a data warehouse and data marts where it is made available to our clients via web based applications. Our Database Systems Group is responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing database feeds and custom ETL processes. The job candidate whose abilities to help us achieve marks in “enhancing”, as we evolve our future, is the person we are looking for!

Essential Responsibilities:
• Migrating existing systems to current cutting edge platforms and tools.
• Support existing ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) applications in a complex database environment
• Design and write new ETL programs, and modify existing ETL processes
• Provide on-call support in a complex production environment (ability to quickly and accurately diagnose problems and apply appropriate remedies)

The Partner Integrated Reporting (PIR) Team at BI Engineering Group - MSIT (India) is looking for a well-qualified person who has prior experiencing in design and implementation of 2-3 end-to-end BI Solutions on Microsoft Technology Stack. This is an IC role. The BIE Team at MSIT India deliver BI solutions for key Microsoft Businesses e.g. Consumer, Partner, Sales and Marketing etc. The PIR Team at BIE is responsible for delivering BI capabilities to Microsoft Partner Teams for enabling key reporting capabilities around the Partner Business of Microsoft. The PIR Team is engaging in a new effort for the upcoming year to deliver enhanced BI capabilities to Microsoft Partner Teams (Next Generation PIR Effort). About the Group

BIE, stands for Business Intelligence Engineering, is part of MS IT India. BIE caters to Business Intelligence needs of various Business groups within Microsoft such as Sales and Marketing, Partners, and Services. BIE delivers enterprise reporting applications which provide decision making capabilities to MS leadership based on “data”.

Focus in BIE is around acquiring data from different sources across the organization, collate them into data warehouses which in turn help provide meaning to a vast repository of data that resides at different places across the org. Core Elements of the Job

Technical Program Manager with BIE is an Individual Contributor role encompassing program delivery and technical depth in a matrix organization. 

Key job functions performed by a program manager in BIE include delivering the various project releases as laid out by the book of work for a fiscal (program delivery) and Designing features by analyzing the Business requirements. Additional activities include working on future state roadmap, business communication, innovation work (POCs), etc.

As people who worked in BI would know, this space requires familiarity with data, understanding the relationship between data stored across different formats - be it relational tables, flat files, etc. By performing data analysis, the program manager designs features based on business requirements and presents them in the FSD docs. Some of the PM tasks include creating logical dimensional models for the data marts, surfacing the information in reports, dashboards, scorecards, portals, etc thus enabling business to make decisions using this knowledge.

For the strategic part, this role would be responsible for creating future state project roadmap, provide leadership to the team, create business cases for budgeting, enhance the project capabilities by continuous improvements & innovation, develop strong partnership with business and other groups, globally.

Other ongoing tasks would also include ensuring communications are seamless, escalations, risks and issues are well managed, interact with senior management till GM level for presentations as required.

Job Location

This position is based in Hyderabad, India and will report to a Lead PM. The job requires minimal travel, primarily to participate in planning and review discussions with team(s) in USA.

Ideal Candidate

This person would have overall 10 years of experience with a minimum of 5 years hands on experience in Project Management and 5 years of experience Technical analysis or Solution Development.

This person would excel in written and verbal communications, would have a good strategic insight while handing tactical day to day tasks. Proven ability in working across the org, a self-starter, who can deal with ambiguity, maintains focus, drives to clarity and provides innovative solutions

 Demonstrated ability to collaborate and deliver results in a matrix organization.
